Mary Marita is Senior Vice President and COO at Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging. She has 22+ years of executive and administrative leadership in the aging field including long-term care and community-based organizations and is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator. In 2012, Marita was recognized by Crain's in the 40 Under 40 awards and was honored as a YWCA Woman of Professional Excellence. Lisa Weitzman is the Benjamin Rose Institute Care Consultation Manager of Business Development. She holds an LISW-S license and Dementia Care Specialist certification. She has a passion for social justice and the social determinants of health as they pertain to older adults aging well in the community.

Caselle Reinke has worked in the healthcare community in San Diego County since 2007. Before joining Senior Care Authority, Caselle served as the Business Administrator of a 30-bed Residential Care Facility for the Elderly where she managed daily operations, recruited and trained care staff, and internally audited operating protocols to meet state regulatory requirements. She specializes in memory care needs and high acuity services and can offer families a practical perspective into care planning. Through her direct care experiences, intermediate nursing classes, and volunteer work at hospitals, she offers her clients a 360 degree perspective into the senior transition process. Caselle earned her Associate Degree in Biology from San Diego Mesa College and a Bachelor Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at San Diego State University.
Shanell is a native San Diegan and has been a part of the senior living community since 2012. She started her career as a caregiver and administrative assistant at a licensed 6-bed care home, then became the lead medication technician to a 30-bed memory care community. Her interest in caring for seniors began at a young age when she cared for her grandmother at home, during which time she became fluent in Tagalog. Shanell’s experiences, coupled with her education in nursing and sociology, equips her with the broad knowledge of senior living and care options available to her clients.
Rebecca Van Wieren
Rebecca Van Wieren has been working as a real estate professional in San Diego County since 2003. She has been helping seniors in transition from active living to retirement, and retirement to aging-in-place while working as a salesperson at the La Costa Resort Real Estate for 12 years. Rebecca began her career at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, then escalated to Prudential California Realty in Del Mar to become a member of one of the country’s top-producing real estate offices selling some of the most exclusive and desirable homes in San Diego County. Rebecca has a Bachelor Degree in Communication with an emphasis in Advertising from San Diego State University. She has been a licensed REALTOR since 2003 and carries designations as Senior Real Estate Specialist, Accredited Buyer Representative, and Certified Distressed Property Expert.
Daniel O’Neil has worked in senior care in San Diego County since 2012. Daniel has specialized experience working with senior disabled clients with advanced memory impairment. He has developed a deep appreciation in caring for aging individuals and their needs through his roles as a caregiver, medication technician, and activities coordinator. He was inspired to work in senior care at a young age when he experienced the deteriorating effects of dementia on a close family friend. Daniel has lived in Spain for 5 years and is fluent in Spanish.
Laurie Hyer has been working as a private caregiver in Orange County for since 2016. She has also worked with disabled veterans and has specialized in caring for stroke patients and adults with dementia, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s. Laurie is a certified nursing assistant and has worked in several skilled nursing facilities, assisted living and memory care communities in the Orange County area. Her love for working with seniors started at a very young age when she volunteered as a Girl Scout in nursing homes and continued through her familial role as a caregiver for her grandmothers.
Natalia Castillo is a student intern with Senior Care Authority, assisting with website content development and organization of client resources for memory care research. Natalia is passionate about stem cell research and is dedicated to contributing towards medical advancements in her future studies. She also serves as an intern at the Shah Lab at UCSF studying leukemia, its mutations, and potential treatment drugs, and at the National Alopecia Areata Foundation (NAAF) where she writes scientific articles for their online magazine, participates in the teen mentorship program matching mentors with mentees, and fundraises for NAAF’s first-time documentary on the incurable disease. She is a competitive swimmer and is fluent in Spanish.
